After some refelection I have decided to start back up my weekly newsletters. My plan is to detail weekly all the different projects that I am working on in a given week. If you ever see something that you want to give me feedback about or get involved in feel free to reply and let me know. Other than that, happy reading, and have a good Coronation weekend!
I spent some time pushing forward our project that has been in the works for a while now. Paul and Diane worked to build a prototype alphabet board that allows you to switch out the board in use.
Its similar to the idea of a FAB Frenchay Alphabet Board. The key difference is that you can slide out and replace the alphabet board. Allowing the same keyguard to be used for different keyboard layouts, languages and colour options.
All of these options are going to be configurable by our website, so someone who buys the board will be able to select their options and print out as many as they want and slot them into the keyguard.
We have the design of the product so we are just working on getting the product manufactured and adding all the finishing touches.

This week I worked further on our TextAloud app. Specifically I worked on making the codebase more reliable. Although you won't see any changes or improvements to the app, the change I have made will mean it is far less likely to break in the future, and it will be much easier for us to add new features once they are planned.

This week I added another resource to Launchpad. The wheels on the bus resources is now fully customisable and free to download on our website: https://acecentre.org.uk/resources/sing-wheels-on-the-bus
A few extra bits and pieces I did this week. Completed my fire safety training e-learning mpdule. I also worked with Jon to look into how we can help make the appointment booking process easier on staff, but that is still in the works. Lastly, I prepared some slides ahead of a call next week Will and I are hosting with people interested in the Dasher project. (What is Dasher?)
